Before you ask, lemme explain why no new poems have been uploaded so far. I've actually written quite a bit. It's just that some poems became too personal for publication. Others, I'm just not proud of. I actually submitted two poems of mine to Pugad (Ateneo's poetry org), though I'm not sure yet if they picked either of them. As soon as the issue itself is published, I'll upload the poems here.

Anyway, I just wanted to get this out on cyberspace. Obviously, most if not all of you know how Kanye West embarrassed Taylor Swift right after she received her award. The news spread like wildfire across the net, and you can tell it has because it reached me pretty early, and I'm too lazy to update myself with recent events. Of course there are the puns. "Kanye, how could you be so heartless?" And then there are the parodies like this. [link] (Credits to perktots from Twitter for that) Basically, everybody thinks Mr. West is a douchebag who needs to know when to keep his mouth shut.

Now, I dunno if I'm the only one, but I think there's some sort of pattern emerging.

Before Kanye, there was Chris Brown. Beating up Rihanna. There's no excuse for domestic violence, and no celebrity is exempt. But even if two variables aren't enough to establish a solid pattern, consider this. Have hip-hop/R & B artists gone as low as picking on defenseless girls? Seriously.

Now a lot of musicians within the spectrum of that genre have done some crazy stuff. Drugs, DIY, shootings, killings, etc. Miraculously, most of them manage to repair their careers (if they're not already dead) and still enjoy success and royalties. But when acts of misogyny are involved, the damage becomes almost irreparable, and reputations are ruined. "But this is only the first and second time such a thing has happened?" R. Kelly pissed on a little girl. Don't tell me you forgot.

So uhm, all you hip hop and R & B musicians. As oxymoronic as this sounds, you can keep your booty and your hoes and your strippers and whatnot. Just don't be TOTAL assholes to women, ayt? Lord knows you can't live without 'em. Nobody can.
